Responsibilities

Make technology, framework and architecture decisions for Wheel’s systems making appropriate trade offs between the immediate and long term sustained growth
Ensure we’re constantly moving our product forward in a build-learn-iterate model
Mentor and guide teams in best-practices for modern web products, distributed systems, and how to make decisions that enable scaling
Collaborate with product, design, and leadership to ideate and develop winning products that help move the business forward
Design, build, deploy and maintain user experiences that scale with a high growth company
Take ownership of complex features that require significant architectural and design work, and analyze system and business metrics post-release
Proactively identify the need for common components, methods, tests and/or introducing processes from the ground up

Qualifications

7+ years experience full-stack development building real-world web applications in production environments
Aptitude for working in a collaborative environment as an empathetic teammate
Deep expertise building large scale web applications or SaaS products using modern open-source technologies
Ability to operate autonomously and have a strong desire to make an impact
Exemplary communication skills; able to explain possible solutions to non-technical team members
Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly
Thrives in a collaborative and diverse environment
