That must include 1,000 hours of supervised practice in providing mental health therapy. Also, at least 100 hours of that time must be under direct supervision.

Once approved, you can register to take the national clinical exam administered by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB). Candidates must complete two hours of suicide prevention training by a Board-approved provider. Many organizations offer information about these courses, including the National Association of Social Workers.
Exams: After earning the appropriate degree and meeting the Utah clinical experience requirements, you can submit an application for licensure. Once approved, you are eligible to take the Marital and Family Therapy Exam developed by the Association of Marital and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards (AMFTRB).
