• Exams: LMFT candidates must pass the "Examination in Marital and Family Therapy," which is developed by the Association of Marital and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards (AMFTRB).

• Fees: For licensure, your fees include a $204 application fee for those who completed a background and NPDB check, and $243 for those who have not yet. There is a $365 fee for the AMFTRB exam.
