Requirements for Remote Nurse Practitioners in Arizona

Are you an aspiring remote nurse practitioner living in or moving to Arizona? You must meet the following requirements to practice as an NP in this state:

  • Education: You must first complete the education and other requirements necessary to hold a current Arizona registered nurse license. If your RN license includes multistate privileges in another compact state, you must have a master’s degree in nursing or an advanced doctor of nursing degree.
    • To prescribe and dispense medications, you must complete a three-credit graduate-level pharmacology course.

  • Experience: Those who complete an advanced nursing education program more than five years prior to applying for licensure must show they have completed 960 hours of advanced practice nursing in that same timeframe.

  • Certification: Prospective nurse practitioners must receive National Certification.

  • Fee: Arizona requires those that seek nurse practitioner licenses to pay the following:
