How to Become a Remote Nurse Practitioner in Arizona

With more than 2,600 healthcare facilities and an aging population, Arizona nurse practitioners are in high demand. Whether you reside in Scottsdale, Mesa, or Phoenix and its suburbs like Chandler, there are many full-time and part-time remote work opportunities available to you.

If you want to work as a remote nurse practitioner (also called telemedicine or telework nurse practitioners), it’s important to keep the following information in mind as you apply:

  • Remote or work-from-home nurse practitioner: As a remote employee, you can work for medical centers and health care providers in other parts of the state. Your work may include collaboration with other medical professionals, patient counseling, and medical record review. When you seek this type of work, be sure to understand if it requires on-site medical care or other tasks.

  • Additional training: Although nurse practitioners are highly regarded medical professionals, they will likely take extra training provided by their employers. That education may include particulars on in-house technology, institutional best practices and other employer specifics.

  • Necessary documentation: Most prospective employers look for the same basic documentation that confirms your education, certifications, and licensure. It’s always a good idea to keep that and other documentation handy so you can efficiently apply for relevant jobs.
