What is your role at Wheel?

As the Commercial Operations & Strategy Manager at Wheel, I make sure that the commercial team is moving in the same direction and that they have the resources they need to do their jobs well. My three core focus areas are:

- Data and Reporting: This means building Salesforce data infrastructure, capturing business metrics, measuring KPI attainment, analyzing sales and client data to help executives make informed business decisions, and everything in between.

- Tech Stack Management: I implement, maintain, and improve the tools that the commercial team needs to succeed.

- Process Optimization: I help clear the commercials team’s path from obstacles so that they can maximize the time they spend doing what they do best: sales.

What's your personal and professional story?

I grew up in a small town in Texas before attending Texas A&M University (Whoop!). I graduated with a degree in Sociology and a Masters Certificate in Nonprofit Management, and then I moved to Houston with no concrete idea what I wanted to do for my career. I spent almost 7 years working at a small, niche staffing and consulting firm, and it was there that I stumbled into Salesforce administration. I supported our sales team and discovered that I really enjoyed the two sides of sales operations – being heads down in the data and the details and working closely with internal teams.

Today, I live outside of Austin, TX with my boyfriend, Andrew, and our dog, Luke. In my free time outside of work, I love to spend time outdoors, watch Hallmark Christmas movies, read, and put together 1000-piece puzzles. And this fall I’m trying my hand at gardening for the first time!

    Why did you join Wheel?

I joined Wheel in July 2021 when the commercial team was still just a handful of people. I didn’t have any previous experience in healthcare or tech, so it was a steep learning curve my first few months on the job – I spent so much time Googling abbreviations and acronyms!

My first and most important task at Wheel was to implement a new instance of Salesforce for the commercial team and migrate us over from our old CRM. After dipping my toe in the Salesforce pond at my previous company, I jumped fully into the deep end at Wheel. We have incredible people here, and I spent hours with leaders from across Wheel to understand how they fit into the bigger picture and what data and processes mattered for their teams. It was such an incredible way to quickly learn about the business and set me up with a great foundation!

As the commercial team has grown, I’ve seen so many changes and iterations to our data, processes, tools, and Wheel in general. I’ve been able to tackle new and exciting challenges alongside wonderful colleagues as we strive to put great healthcare within everyone’s reach.

    What’s your favorite Wheel moment?

Recently, I’ve been really excited to see Wheel launch our new platform and build partnerships with big companies like Amazon and Best Buy. These wins make the hard work over the last two plus years worth it!

What do you think the future of healthcare holds?

What excites me the most about the future of healthcare is the continued expansion of access to care for underserved communities and populations. As virtual care becomes the norm, I’m excited to see access to care grow for people who live in a rural area, don’t have health insurance, have language barriers, or have any other obstacle that has made access to good care out of reach.

    Fun fact?

My dog Luke Danes is named after a character from my favorite show, Gilmore Girls!
