Profiles in Telehealth: Megan Woodrow - Operations Manager

Megan fell in love with Austin during her summer internship in college, where she met Wheel's co-founders. Learn more about her journey from Colorado to Texas and why she loves being part of the Wheel team.

What’s your role at Wheel?

I am an operations manager at Wheel. My main responsibility is to help our clients launch and then maintain a relationship as they continue partnering with Wheel. A big part of my role is not only building relationships with the clients and the clinicians that work for them. Clinicians are a crucial part in helping me and my team make processes more efficient so they can treat more patients. I also help drive clinician quality efforts. I’ve teamed up with our medical director, Dr. Andrew Zimmerman, who is leading our team to track and measure quality that empowers clinicians and matters to clients.

What’s your background? What did you do before working with Wheel?

I was born and raised in Aspen, CO, (peep the photo above) so my happiest place is outside in the mountains! If it’s the winter, I love to snow hike and ski, but the summers in Colorado allow for even more activities, such as paddle boarding, trail running, and camping. I have family in Texas and grew up going to our family ranch, which influenced my decision to attend Baylor University. I had a summer internship in Austin during college, and during that time I realized how many outdoor activities in Austin remind me of home. I decided I had to stay! If I’m not in Austin, I am traveling the world -- especially to places where I can try out my novice surfing skills. One of my dreams is to surf in Iceland, combining my love for mountains and surfing!

Why did you join the Wheel team?

Years ago, I had a summer internship in Austin at a company that Wheel’s co-founders previously worked at.

I got to see firsthand how intelligent and driven both Michelle and Griffin are and have been working with them since the beginning of Wheel.

I’m excited that Wheel will continue to bring on innovative and charismatic people to change healthcare and create a company culture that employees thrive at!

What’s your recent Wheel Moment of Reward?

My most recent Wheel Moment was when I helped our sales and operations teams create a client proposal stating the benefits of working with Wheel. Not only did the client see the advantages of working with us, but our clinicians were very pleased with the opportunity to work with this specific client. It was so great to see our teams come together and create a proposal that successfully addressed both client and clinician needs. We are still partnering with that client and our clinicians continue to enjoy working with them!

What do you think the future of healthcare holds?

I would have never imagined myself being a part of a company that gets to positively impact people during a pandemic. That said, I also never imagined that I would live through a pandemic! The one thing I know is that healthcare innovation is at full velocity right now and an area that I’m increasingly more passionate about is mental health. This is sadly a time when a lot of people who are alone in their homes need people to talk to and feel known by. Medical professionals and mental health specialists can impact people directly in their homes at this time with telemedicine.

Thanks, Megan, for sharing your thoughts and being an essential member of the #WheelCareTeam!
